I'm Training My Kids

Proverbs 22.6 says 'train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.  I'm am far from being a perfect parent.  I have many regrets...I regret to say LOL.  But one thing I hold dear to my heart is knowing that if I've done nothing else...I have established within my children's lives the importance of knowing God.  My kids don't believe in Santa.  They know they have a Savior.

I look back and wish I was more disciplined about instilling academic discipline in my kids.  But truth be told, many educated, prosperous, well to do people will miss the rapture.  So when it comes down to it, the best legacy I can give my kids is read your word, fellowship with other believers, talk to Him, thank Him.

It's so cool when your efforts to establish a relationship between your child and God are confirmed when they tell you how they 'prayed' about something, or you hear them thanking God without prompting or better yet they choose not to do something cause they know they are Christian and they don't want to grieve the Spirit of God.  Thank you Lord...for EVERYTHING:)

Modern Day Miracles

LET US DO AS OUR FATHER DOES

As I read Matthew 14, I am once again awed by the Lord's way of defying our every day norm.  It is not normal for a man to walk on water or for food to be multiplied before our eyes.  Yet, for the One who spoke the world into existence, this is just another day.  I pray that my faith grows in such a way that 'moving mountains' will just be an everyday thing for me.  For us all.

As children of a powerful God, I think it is our responsibility to learn from Him and challenge our earthly thinking.  We limit God based on our own limitations.  How many blessings have we missed out on just because we refused to allow Him to be God.  The fears that have paralyzed me in the past should have no power.  Lord teach me your ways.  Help me to walk in the authority that I have as your child.

Belief Disorder

Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.  Matthew 13.58

What a way to end a chapter.  Here you have the King of Kings, Lord of Lords right before your eyes, but because we can figure out the how and why of what He's doing we forfeit many miracles.  I myself am guilty of a belief disorder.  Especially when I'm believing for something that's been a mountain in my life for some time.  My prayer is 'Lord let me understand...with Your understanding'.  Let's not limit God.  Let's not keep Him in a box.
