Family, Friends and All The Laughs My Belly Could Take :)

Yep, that's how I ended 2011.  No wild parties.  No substances or relations that lead to regret...just good old fashion FUN:)

in Cathedral City on Perez St.

Me and my girl Tanisha took ALL OUR KIDS, LOL, and went ice skating!!  That's right, I got my skate on last night.

Alexandria and her Big Brother Dupree

At first I was like, "Lawd Jedus!!!"  Took some time balancing all this natural goodness, especially with my flatfeet :)

Kori, Me (oh so Godfident :) and Kiri

All you Coachella Valley folks out there need to grab your kids and get your skate on.

Alexandria and Caprice

It's only $8 including skate rental for two hours.

My oldest Phillip Jabari, taking his Superman Swag Sweet Time

Two hours is plenty believe me.  A guaranteed good time.

This rink is HUGE!!!!

Isn't it Tanisha? :)

In addition to becoming more physically fit, I've decided this is the perfect time to read the bible from cover to cover.  If I can read 'The Help', which is 500 pgs, in 3 days, than surely I can read my 2221 pg bible in 52 weeks... "Come on somebody?!?" (as Pastor O would say :)

You know wassup!!!!

For the last couple of years I've been, inconsistently, following a Proverb and Psalm schedule as follows:

There's 31 Psalms so read what ever today's date is... then...
5 Psalms a day, today is the 1st, so read psalm 1, 31, 61, 91, 121 (just add 30)
By the end of the month I've read all the Proverbs(wisdom) and all the Psalm (praise and prayers)

Because of today's Proverb I know that as long as I obey him, not only is evil not a problem for me, but neither is the FEAR, which is a byproduct of evil. (Prov 1.33) Hallelujah!!!

Found out today in Psalms that as long as I delight in God's ways/laws/word...EVERYTHING I do will prosper.  It says SHALL people, that's a PROMISE :P (Psalms 1.3)

The Strife of Tongues sounds like gossip and backbiting to me... Psalms 31.20 tells me He SHALL protect us from that too!! Woop!! Woop!!

Since only our spirits have been reborn and not our flesh, come on somebody, there will be times when we are overwhelmed, but Psalms 61.2 reminds me that Jesus is our rock who is always HIGHER, so wherever we find ourselves in life, we have to call out to Him and HE SHALL take us higher.  I'M A WITNESS!!

~^~NOISOME PESTILENCE~^~ sounds like something you wanna spray until the can runs out LOL, well it's as bad as it sounds and guess what... He's got us covered on that one too! (Psalms 91.3)

My bible title's Psalms 121 'God's Sustaining Power '.  The thing that trips me out is, we can sit and think about God all day... and STILL not realize what a wonder He is all by Himself.  Every authority figure on this earth that we know of has to get some sleep.  The LORD... DOES NOT SLEEP... OR SLUMBER!!! Wrap your head around that one LOL :)  Enough said.  I love the Word.  It trully takes me out of my head, which can often be a dangerous place, and takes me so high that I'm looking for Jesus to TAKE ME NOW!!!!  LOL  But He always tells me, 'No not yet, you haven't finished your assignment'.  As long as He walks with me...I'm good♥

♥♥Feeding my spirit more than my flesh. ♥♥
I always read prayerfully
I want His interpretation... not mine
♥♥

I like the idea of reading Old and New Testament at the same time.

Genesis 1 - I wanna be like the LORD in everything I do in 2012. I want to speak things into existence with the power in my tongue, than once I see it manifest, pronounce it good.  No more speaking death with doubt, fear, little faith. I'm digging deeper, becoming more #ROOTED, I want to see the fruit of 2012 cause I know it's going to be good!!

Matthew 1- I've never really been good at history when it comes to genealogy, family trees and stuff like that.  But one thing I do understand about all the names is NO ONE can dispute JESUS!!!  Hallelujah!  It's like God was saying, 'Yeah you can miss me with all that Buddha and Muhammad stuff, Jesus was , is and is to come SO TAKE THAT!!!'  LOL  I love it:)  I wonder if Joseph knew Who the Holy Spirit was.  When the angel told him 'for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit', did he know Who the angel was talking about?  I wonder if there was a small part of him that was like, 'Holy who?'.

There will always be storms

chillin'

I'm looking for a picture... I can't remember where I saw it, but there's a HUGE raging storm.  Then there's a tree off to the side.  Then when you look very closely at the tree, you see a tiny bird dangling from a branch over the raging waters.  In the midst of this storm, this bird is chillin.  I'm that bird yall:)

STAY IN THE WORD

GOALS FOR 2012

The fact that the only post I've done for 2011 is about goals for 2012 is no accident.  This year has been REVOLUTIONARY to say the least.  God has a way of answering prayers in a way that we would have never thought to ask for but yet we see that it was the best way.

I'm in a new place in life today... Physically, Mentally and Spiritually.  My ultimate goal for 2012 is to be the Karla the Father designed me to be.  Whatever it takes... is what I'll do.  No more fear, doubt, double thinking etc.  Time for the training wheels to come off.  We are here for such a time as this.

We know what we have been called to do Point.Blank.Period.  I thank God for my new pastors and church fam THEY ARE AWESOME:)

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Let's Do 2012 and stay #ROOTED!!!

THE HARDEST WORKING MAN IN HISTORY IS THE MOST HATED!

I have to laugh at myself sometimes. Actually more than that. Today at work, was one of those days that started out sooooo well and then...it was like... the full moon I saw a couple of nights ago decided that it's stay wasn't long enough and took another tour of duty. Everyone must have been well hydrated and the water on their brains ebbed and flowed like the tides of a Tsunami off the coast of Singapore. Yes... that bad.

I have this fantasy that one day my work will be consistently flawless. My inbox will never have paper in it for too long and I will be voted
Employee of the Century. Anyone reading this who works with me has a big smile on their face right now. First of all, as a furloughed worker, mistakes are inevitable considering there's more work and less time to do it in. Second, my inbox... never sees the light of day. Lastly, there's no such thing :) But it's nice to think wishfully.

I work constantly from the time I get to work until we shut down (with the exception of a 30 min lunch and two 15 min breaks, which I've worked through for the last 10 years but NOT ANYMORE!!!!). At no time has anyone looked over in my area and seen me spinning on my thumb or picking lint out of my belly button. Okay, I have been known to file my nails a time or two... (hey, what's a girl to do with a hangnail?) So, to make a long story short, I had a few dissatisfied customers. For some reason, I could not see beyond that. I want everyone to love me. Especially since no mistake made was intentional. Why do we take things so personally. Like someone is out to get us if the eggs are served sunny side up instead of scrambled. Flat out conspiracy!!!! No, I'm not a waitress... I'm a PPP (Professional Paper Pusher). Personnel Specialist aka Human Resources (health benefits, payroll, attendance certification, etc)

Too make a long story short, a day that started off "Happy Friday!!!!!" turned into "Awful Way To Start a Weekend" during the last two hours of the work day.

Couple of yeasrs ago, the LORD whispered some wisdom in my ear in regards to being a people pleaser. HE said, "Jesus completed the most important work ever, and is still slandered, mocked and scorned to this day! What makes you think, as HIS follower, you will be treated any better?"

After going to Curves, chillin at mom's awhile, goofin off with the kids, I come home and bust out my best Tear Drop china.

In the midst of my solo Pity Tea Party, these words of wisdom well up within me. I'm brought back to reality.

Nothing I go through in this life can compare with the agony and pain our Saviour went through as HE walked this earth in the flesh. I mean, can you REALLY imagine what it was like to have people smile in your face, speak kind words to you... when all the while you KNOW EXACTLY what they're thinking? Not just one person, but EVERY PERSON. We can't even stand someone talking about us when it's the truth, let alone a lie, which is how they ushered JESUS to the cross...based on a lie.

And so with this, once again I am reminded that as I work, it is as Unto The LORD. I will not fear or worry about man who has the power to kill my flesh but I revere HIM who has the power to send my soul to hell. The WORD says that when our way please the LORD, HE will make even our enemies be at peace with us.

Let's not forget the details of the physical torment our Saviour endured.
IT REALLY HAPPENED!!! http://www.khouse.org/articles/1998/113/

We look not to man for our validation, but to our Heavenly Father.

Jesus Draw Me Close

One of my favorite hymns. Short and straight to the point. We need to turn the tv, cell phone, internet and all other distractions and talk to HIM. More important than talking to HIM is listening than obeying. He's waiting...

THE MOST POWERFUL SUBSTANCE...

to ever seep into the earth. That's what the blood of JESUS is. If HE were to come back tonight would you be ready for flight or do you need a blood transfusion?
That earthquake we experienced on Easter reminded me of the earthquake that happened on Good Friday 2010 years ago. Remember when Jesus said
"It is finished"? There was a great earthquake and the veil of the temple tore straight up the middle. At that moment we no longer had to sacrifice goats and sheep. JESUS blood IS sinless and HE presented Himself as the ULTIMATE sacrifice. After Him there could be no other... IT IS FINISHED!!!!

Stay in the WORD and Stay BLESSED!!♥

WHAT CHU BEEN UP TO TODAY?

Would you dare tell your spouse, "Don't talk to me, it's Friday, save it til Sunday... that's your day"?

Many times we find it hard to really talk to the LORD cause HE's not like a 'regular' person. HE's not loud, boisterous or rudely forcing HIS way into our lives. He's a gentle giant, until HE's crossed. Sometimes I think HE gives us so much freedom in this relationship that we take it for granted and often take HIM out of the 'box' when it's convenient for us.

To be honest I have no problem talking to HIM. I love talking to HIM. But this evening I found myself wanting to experience deeper intimacy with HIM. The kind of intimacy that allows HIM to heal things within me that I don't seem to know how to let go of.

So I found a quiet place and I let my guard down and I asked HIM, "What chu been up to today?". As I was saying it, I felt kind of goofy yet I knew HE loves to talk. And almost instantly, He took me around the world and showed me what HE's been up to. Tears came to my eyes because, once again I was reminded of not only what a big God HE is, but with all the turmoil in the world, HIS Holy Spirit is always protecting and providing for HIS sparrows.

I WANT TO WIN SOULS TO CHRIST

Fear is real. It's a spirit. You would think that after someone gave their life for you, literally, that you would have NO PROBLEM telling other people about how they changed your life.

I am ashamed to say that in my 37 years of being on this earth, most of those years being filled with "church on Sundays", I have only led 2 people... to Christ by leading them in a repentance prayer.

Now we talk a lot in my church fam about 'winning folks to Christ', meaning more than just leading them in the sinners' prayer. You could be one of those people that just drop a seed, another that waters or eventually when the seed has fully grown, we may be the one that harvest the seed and pray with that person.

Why do I feel like if I'm not talking about Jesus all the time at work, I'm a hypocrite? When in reality I don't get many opportunities to talk about Christ. Or is it that I've just missed them without realizing it?

With all the tribulation that the average saint goes through on this earth, I want to live my best Christian life while I'm here and I want my crown of life to be filled with stones. I've never had to shed blood for Christ, the least I could do is be FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY♥
