Protected By Jesus

Pastor Obed preached about following Jesus yesterday.  It reminded me of a cartoon I saw where the man complained to God about the rocks that were hitting him.  But when God allowed him to see the real picture He saw Jesus getting hit by boulders.  I know I'm guilty of taking Him for granted.  We're like spoiled children sometimes.  So used to being blessed that we start sniveling about the manna LOL.

I pray that God's presence in my life and others' lives is always more real than the 'problems' of life.  I pray that every morning I wake I automatically start talking to Him and acknowledging Him first thing.

The following is for my own accountability.  Those of you who wish to join me feel free.  You can never get enough spiritual food...ENJOY!!! This is the first year I'm reading the Word cover to cover.  If I can read a 500 page novel in a week, surely I can read my 2200 pg bible in 52 weeks!!   Daily reading schedule example:

Before I begin my study I make sure my heart is right with prayer and worship.  

I ask Him to give me Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge and Discernment.  

If He leads me somewhere else before I actually study...so be it...I want more of HIM

Remember when the reality of the Father's love swept through your spirit for the first time?

Man oh man!!! This song took me back to a place where rivers of water flowed. Back to a time in my life when NOTHING was bigger than God. When I trully had the faith of a child and was waiting with anticipation for HIM to split another sea.
What happens to us once we live life for a while? Do we start to get a little jaded? A little carnal? LORD whatever it is take it away from me, clean my heart and take me back to that place where YOUR voice is the loudest voice I hear!!!!
